Evan Hargrave is a composer and performer based in Portland Oregon. His experience performing a broad range of repertoires, from renaissance polyphony to contemporary collaborations, have informed his unique compositional approach that melds modernist sonorities with contrapuntal lyricism.
Summer Winds is a mixed-ensemble quartet that I originally wrote for a Korean intercultural concert, and later arranged for western instruments for my Master's recital. The piece juxtaposes lively rhythmic sections with moments of meditative lyricism.
